Giving is an act of worship, not a transaction or obligation.
We do not use emotional manipulation, pressure tactics, or constant fundraising appeals. When there is a genuine need — such as a family in crisis or a financial update — we will share it clearly and directly, then trust God and His people to respond as He leads.
Giving at Pilgrim is voluntary, private, and rooted in conviction — not compulsion.
An act of worship. Voluntary and private. Rooted in conviction. A response to God’s grace.
A transaction. A social obligation. A public display. A measure of your faithfulness or standing here.
“Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.”
2 Corinthians 9:7
Although there is nothing inherently wrong with passing an offering plate, we have chosen not to do so at Pilgrim.
We do not want anyone to feel pressured, embarrassed, or compelled to give because of social expectation. We also do not want giving to become a public display or a moment of discomfort — especially for visitors.
Instead, we trust the Lord to move His people to give willingly and cheerfully as an act of worship.
No Pressure. Ever.
If you visit and choose not to give, nothing will be said, implied, or expected. You are our guest.
“But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.”
2 Corinthians 9:6We believe it is biblical for a New Testament church to provide a clear and accessible way for its members to give. All giving is handled with care, integrity, and accountability.

Financial giving is primarily for those who consider Pilgrim their church home. If you are visiting, exploring, or simply listening online, there is no expectation for you to give.
We want you to focus on learning, listening, and understanding what we believe and how we worship.
Participation comes before contribution.
We believe God owns all things and entrusts resources to His people for faithful stewardship. Giving is not about obligation, guilt, or recognition — it is about worship, obedience, and gratitude.
We do not measure faithfulness by the size or frequency of your gift. God looks at the heart.
The size of your gift. How often you give. Whether others see you give. What you give compared to others.
“But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.”
Matthew 6:20
Pilgrim Baptist Church exists to glorify God through the faithful preaching of His Word and the steady formation of believers and families.
