Are You Ready for the Most Mind-Blowing Biblical Discovery?
What if I told you that giants aren't just fairy tale creatures, but real beings mentioned throughout Scripture? What if these giants are connected to end times prophecy in ways that will absolutely astound you?
The Bible is crystal clear about one thing: giants have been on earth before, and they're coming back.
The Interest-Grabbing Truth About Biblical Giants
In our ongoing study of Daniel chapter 2, we discovered something remarkable about the last kingdom before Christ returns. The iron and clay represent a mingling - "they" (the iron) and "the seed of men" (the clay). This isn't just ancient history; it's prophetic insight into what's coming.
But here's where it gets really interesting. These giants didn't just disappear after Noah's flood. Genesis 6:4 tells us: "There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown."
Did you catch those four crucial words? "And also after that."
The giants survived. They kept showing up. And they're going to show up again.
The Desire to Understand God's Plan
The Spies' Report: When Faith Meets Fear
Fast forward to Numbers 13, where God tells Moses to send spies into the Promised Land. But here's what's fascinating - in Deuteronomy 1:22, we see it was actually the people's idea to search out the land, not God's original plan.
When the spies returned, they brought back a terrifying report: "And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight" (Numbers 13:33).
Ten spies saw giants and focused on the problem.
Two spies - Joshua and Caleb - saw God and focused on His promise.
The Pattern of Divine Judgment
Throughout Scripture, whenever giants appear, God's judgment follows:
Genesis 6: The flood
Sodom and Gomorrah: Fire and brimstone
The Conquest of Canaan: Complete destruction
Why? Because God wants a pure seed. He's protecting the lineage through which the Messiah would come.
The Action Plan: What This Means for Us Today
Jericho: The City of Giants
When Joshua finally led Israel into the Promised Land, the first city they conquered was Jericho - known in ancient times as "the city of giants."
Joshua 6:2 records God's promise: "And the Lord said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour."
Those "mighty men" weren't just strong soldiers - they were the same "mighty men" mentioned in Genesis 6:4.
The Complete Conquest
The conquest wasn't just about real estate. It was about spiritual warfare. Every city they conquered had giants:
East side of Jordan: Og king of Bashan, whose bed was 13-15 feet long (Deuteronomy 3:11)
West side: The Anakims throughout the land
The Valley of the Son of Hinnom: Where giants practiced child sacrifice and witchcraft
Joshua 11:21-22 tells us: "And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the mountains... There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained."
The End Times Connection
Here's the prophetic bombshell: Daniel 2 gives us a preview of the last kingdom before Christ returns. Just as giants were "mingled" in ancient times, there will be a final mingling of "they" and "the seed of men" in the end times.
The same pattern that appeared before the flood, before Sodom's destruction, and before Israel's conquest is coming again.
The Grasshopper Perspective vs. The God Perspective
The ten spies made a critical error - they compared themselves to the giants instead of trusting in God's power. They saw themselves as grasshoppers.
But Joshua and Caleb had a different perspective. They didn't focus on the size of the giants; they focused on the size of their God.
Caleb's response in Numbers 13:30 shows us the right attitude: "And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it."
When you have your eyes on God, giants become irrelevant.
Why This Matters More Than Ever
We're living in times when many churches have adopted a "democratic" approach to spiritual matters - letting popular opinion override God's clear commands. Just like the ten spies who "voted out" Joshua and Caleb, many believers today choose the majority opinion over God's Word.
But here's the truth: The majority isn't always right. God's Word is always right.
The Champion Giant is Coming
The story doesn't end with these conquests. There's one more giant we need to discuss - the champion giant that everyone knows about. Next week, we'll dive deep into the account of Goliath and discover some absolutely fascinating connections that will tie everything together.
This whole study reveals something profound: Satan has been in a battle for the kingdom from the very beginning. The mingling of the "sons of God" with the "daughters of men" has always been his strategy to corrupt God's plan.
But we know who wins. Christ will return, crush the final kingdom, and establish His eternal reign. Daniel 2 promises that God's stone kingdom will "break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever" (Daniel 2:44).
