Family Camp Guidelines

Dear Church Family,

We are excited to welcome you to our 2nd Annual Family Camp! This is a wonderful opportunity for Christian fellowship, spiritual growth, and making lasting memories together. To ensure a safe, enjoyable, and an orderly experience for everyone, we ask that all families observe the following guidelines:

Child Supervision and Safety

Pastor Fortunato and his wife will not be able to assume responsibility for anyone's children during this event. Parents are fully responsible for the care, supervision, and behavior of their own children throughout the duration of camp.

For this reason, we require parents to ensure that:

  • Children play in groups with adult supervision at all times
  • No child is left unattended at any time
  • Parents know their children's whereabouts throughout the day
  • If you SEE something, SAY something.
Pro 31:9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

Church Service Attendance

Since this is a church family camp, all families should attend all scheduled church services. These times of worship and Bible teaching are central to our purpose in "assembling of ourselves together."

Meal Times

Please observe the following meal times:

  • Breakfast: 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM only
(our morning church service begins at 9:30 AM, so no late breakfasts will be available)
  • Lunch: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
(no late lunches will be available)
  • Supper: 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
(our evening church service begins at 6:30 PM, so no late suppers will be available)

Please plan to arrive during these designated times for each meal.

Cabin Assignments & Responsibilities:

Each family has been assigned their own cabin for the duration of camp. Please respect these assignments—cabins should not be shared between families. This ensures adequate space and privacy for each family unit.

  • Each family is responsible for bringing their own bedding and toiletries for Family Camp
  • Before departing, each family is responsible for cleaning up any trash in their cabin and leaving it in good condition

Technology and Screen Time

Family Camp is designed as a three-day retreat to escape screen time and dependence on the world wide web. This is a time to step away from the fear of the news, political dramas, and troubling headlines, and instead focus on fellowship, worship, and quality family time.

We ask adults to teach by example by limiting cell phone use during Family Camp. If adults (18 yrs and older) need to use their cell phones, they should refrain from sharing what they are viewing with children outside their immediate family. This will respect families who do not wish their children to be exposed to other people's screens.

Children should enjoy face-to-face interaction rather than face-to-screen interaction. Therefore, children should not be using cell phones during Family Camp.

We understand that some cell phone use may be necessary for emergencies or important matters, but we encourage everyone to embrace this opportunity to unplug and be fully present with one another.

Evening Curfew

To ensure everyone is well-rested and able to fully participate in the next day's activities, we have established a 10:00 PM curfew. All children must be in their assigned family cabin by this time each evening. Additionally, our reverse curfew each morning requires children to remain in their own cabins until 7 am, as the earliest wake time.

Family Camp Dress Code

We kindly ask all attendees to observe our modest dress standards during all camp activities:

For Men and Boys:

  • Loose-fitting pants, jeans, or trousers (no dresses or skirts)
  • Shirts that fully cover the chest and back areas
  • If shorts are worn, they should fully cover the nakedness of the thighs

For Women and Girls:

  • Loose-fitting dresses or skirts (no pants, jeans, or trousers)
  • Tops that fully cover the chest and back areas
  • Skirts and dresses that fully cover the nakedness of the thighs

We appreciate your cooperation in following these guidelines. They are established to create an environment where all families can focus on worship, fellowship, and growing closer to the Lord without distraction or concern.

If you have any questions about these guidelines, please don't hesitate to reach out before camp begins.

We look forward to a blessed time together!

In His Grip,

Bro Jimmy
