Membership Termination

The membership of any individual member shall automatically terminate without notice if:

  • the member has not attended a regular worship service of the church in the preceding six months.
    Please note: It is impossible to be a member of a local church if you do not gather at your local church. This provision may be waived at the discretion of the pastor upon the showing of good cause.
  • the member is sowing discord among the brethren or is committing acts of railing, which is using scoffing, insulting, or hateful language.
  • the member is involved in sexual misconduct, idolatry, drunkenness, or extortion.
  • the member unites in membership with another church.
  • the member files a lawsuit in violation of the doctrinal statement of faith.
  • the member dies.

For any memberships terminated in accordance with the above provisions, except for memberships terminated under 5 above, the church may send a letter informing the prior member of the termination, but this is not required. 

Transfer or Resignation of Membership:

Members not under the church disciplinary process may request a letter of transfer be sent to another church. A member may resign at any time, but no letter of transfer or written statement of good standing will be issued upon such resignation, except at the discretion of the pastor.
